Originally a shrine to the goddess Sulis, the Roman Baths in Bath, south of The Cotswolds, are a major tourist attraction that include the Sacred Spring, the Roman Temple, The Roman Bath House and the Roman Museum.
Situated next to the impressive Bath Abbey, the baths are a stunning reminder of Roman life, these Baths are a tribute to the artistry and stonework of the roman people. The museum contains hundreds of historic artefacts for Roman times, including objects the Romans used to throw into the spa as offerings to the goddess.
Although bathing is prohibited in the original baths, the nearby Cross Bath and Thermae Bath Spa have been constructed to give visitors the authentic bathing experience.
