Bath, The Cotswolds, England
Your note
Situated in the South-West of England, and on the far southern tip of The Cotswolds, Bath was originally founded by the Romans as a spa resort around hot springs..... still thought to be the only naturally ocurring ones in the UK.
A World Heritage Site and with a population of 85,000, Bath became a popular destination during the Georgian era, which itself has left its mark on Bath with some stunning examples of Georgian architecture throughout the city, built using the Bath stone so characteristic of the area. It is also still possible to see much of the Roman legacy in the city with the fantastic Roman Baths open all year, and the recently opened Thermae Baths giving you the unique opportunity to bathe in a naturally heated spring waters.
Nearly 4 million tourists visit Bath each year, and with monuments such as the Bath Crescent and Bath Abbey, hundreds of restaurants and public houses and many more holiday accommodation, including the beautiful georgian bed and breakfasts...it's not hard to see why!
