Your note
The Cotswolds is a picture-perfect region of hills (Wolds) and countryside in South-West England that covers an area around 45km across and 150km long. The Cotswolds stretch from Stratford-Upon-Avon in the north to Bath in the south and from Oxford in the east to Gloucester in the west. Often referred to as the 'Heart of England', close to two-thirds of The Cotswolds is situated within the county of Gloucestershire.
With its rolling hills, sweeping green pastures, quaint villages and characteristic limestone buildings. Located a short drive to the west of London, there are numerous magical towns and villages to visit, all of which appear to be straight out of a fairytale. Villages such as Bibury, Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water allow you to travel back to a forgotten age, whereas towns and cities such as Cheltenham and Bristol offer vibrant city life within the rural charms of Cotswold scenery. Then you have Oxford and Bath, two architecturally impressive towns which will have you enchanted by their monuments and history.
The Cotswolds also has a unique offer of holiday accommodation, with many typical Cotswold Stone cottages available for holiday rental. Many of the villages offer traditional rural hotels, inns and B&Bs, with the larger towns such as Bristol, Oxford, Bath and Cheltenham offering a wider selection of accommodations.
So come and see why many regard The Cotswolds as the most beautiful corner of England!
